George Washington University –
At Ensuring Solutions to Alcohol Problems, we’re working with business leaders, policy makers, and concerned citizens to close this treatment gap. As part of The George Washington University Medical Center, Ensuring Solutions knows that misuse of alcohol, a legal drug, is a major public health issue. Through its outreach and communications efforts, Ensuring Solutions emphasizes that alcohol problems: can be treated effectively; often have a strong genetic component; are chronic in nature, similar to asthma, diabetes and high blood pressure; require early detection and continuing care; cost business and communities more when left untreated.

National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) –
Part of the National Institues of Health, NIAAA provides leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol-related problems. NIAA supports and conducts biomedical and behavioral research on the causes, consequences, treatment, and prevention of alcoholism and alcohol-related problems.

National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) –
Part of the National Institutes of Health , NIDA leads the nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. The majority of recent scientific advances, which have dramatic implications for how to best prevent and treat addiction, have been supported by NIDA.

National Association for Children Of Alcoholics (NACoA) – A national, nonprofit membership organization working on behalf of children of alcohol and drug dependent parents. Advocates for all children and families affected by alcoholism and other drug dependencies.

National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse –
The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University is the only national organization, which brings together under one roof all the professional disciplines needed to study and combat abuse of all substances — alcohol, nicotine, illegal drugs, prescription drugs, performance enhancing drugs — in all sectors of society.

Join Together –
A national resource for communities fighting substance abuse and gun violence. A project of the Boston University School of Public Health. Join Together has supported community-based efforts to advance effective alcohol and drug policy, prevention, and treatment.
